The Best Things for Your Wedding Guests To Do in Roatan

Hey, lovebirds! Are you ready to kick your wedding festivities up a notch and dive into an unforgettable adventure on the sun-kissed shores of Roatán, Honduras? We’ve got you covered with the ultimate pre-wedding guide that will give you and your guests the best possible time on the island (other than at your amazing Roatan wedding!!).
And let’s be real – it matters. Because the pressure is on for your guests to have an AMAZING time – normal weddings, you only have to worry about one day, but for your destination wedding, you want them to have an amazing trip the whole time they’re there!
So, grab your sunglasses, and let’s embark on a whirlwind of excitement before your destination wedding. And hey, while we’re at it, imagine how incredible it would be to have TKM Photography capture every magical moment of your special day!
Picture this—white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and a gentle ocean breeze that whispers sweet promises. Roatán boasts some of the most incredible beaches in the Caribbean, providing the perfect backdrop for pre-wedding relaxation and romantic strolls hand in hand.
You have so many beautiful beaches to choose from, from West Bay Beach, to Turtle Beach to Halfmoon Bay in the West to Brady’s Cay and Camp Bay further east. In fact, they’ve been voted some of the best in the world! And we totally get why – your jaws will drop when you experience the soft sand, the swim-out reefs to snorkel through, or the sunset views for yourself!!
As photographers, we have shot in so many different places, but nothing compares to the beaches in Roatan.

Take a plunge into Roatán’s underwater wonderland with your partner by your side. Snorkel or scuba dive through vibrant coral reefs, encounter majestic sea turtles and dance with colorful schools of fish.
Looking for a full-service dive shop to take care of you? Look no further than Clearwater Adventures. They will take great care of you and take you to the best dive sites around the island. Tell them we sent you!
Not much of a diver, and prefer to snorkel? Let Patrick take care of you! They are long time dive masters on the island and know all the best spots for snorkeling. Bonus points for them being just the sweetest people to spend a day with.
And if you want to swim with the dolphins, head over to this place: The dolphin snorkel experience at Anthony’s Key Resort is not to be missed. A good friend used to be a dolphin trainer there and it is world renowned for being cruelty free. The dolphins are regularly let out to the sea and come back willingly. It’s very cool.
Also, don’t skip on a night dive or snorkel. It’s one of the coolest things we’ve ever done on the island!

Ready to add some adrenaline to your love story? Roatán offers heart-racing zip-line adventures that will have you soaring above the lush rainforest canopy.
Roatan is not just gorgeous beaches but also lush rainforest and this let’s you see that side of it (even if you’re going pretty fast!)
Feel the thrill as you zip through the trees. And don’t forget to take some pictures – you can capture some really epic shots of your adventurous spirits.
Our favourite is South Shore Adventures! And if you have members of your group who are less adventurous, the suspension bridge and nature hike will be right up their alley!

If you have a guest that’s like this:

Then Roatan has amazing spas – such as Spa Baan Suerte or Kao Kamasa Spa.
And you know what – you’ve been pretty busy planning this wedding. Go get yourself a soothing massage or an invigorating facial.
Nothing says romance like sailing into the sunset with your partner.
So raise your glasses and sail into the sunset with your partner on a romantic cruise along Roatán’s captivating coastline. There’s nothing quite like a Roatan sunset and the best place to catch it is on the water. We love Captain Dave for this!

There is so much to see on Roatan. Why not book an island tour with the coolest locals who know the island like the back of their hands? Get the scoop on the best secret spots on Roatan, the history of the island, and have honestly the time of your life with some really amazing people! Check out Loly and her team at Roaloa Tours.
Loly is great because she’s so accommodating, can work with you and your guests, and can even find something that will make your cranky old uncle smile.
Some of the places she’s taken our couples is on a cross island tour or to Punta Gorda and explained the cultural dance, food and more of the indigeneous people of Roatan.
For food, we love Sandy Buns in West End for breakfast/brunch and lunch. It’s a couple Texans that own it and their food is amazing. If you’re thinking more date night, Roatan Oasis is great, and the restaurants at Ibagari and Xbalanque are fantastic. Sunken Fish in Sandy Bay is fun and they do a great deep fried whole fish (an island fave!!). Yahongreh in West End is good local food and we have never gotten sick there (the local street food is usually fine, but it can get a foreign stomach sometimes! So we recommend if you want local eats, Yahongreh is your best bet).
I would also recommend hiring a local chef to come and cook for you one night where you’re staying. We love Dixlee Ebanks and I can get you in touch with her. She can put on a beautiful local spread (or an American one if that’s your preference) with the option for tons of fresh seafood and is just all round a lovely person. She’s also really good with any allergies or dietary restrictions. And her food is seriously amazing. I think about her conch fritters all the time.

Now, imagine the icing on the cake—having TKM Photography as your wedding photographer, expertly capturing every cherished moment of your destination wedding. From the pre-wedding adventures to the heartfelt vows and joyful celebrations, their talented team will ensure that your love story is beautifully preserved for eternity.
