The Spielfogel family showed up at the Kimpton Grand Roatán looking like vacation goals. The Kimpton is, without question, the most luxurious resort on the island—tucked right into the jungle, with West Bay’s white sand and turquoise water just steps away. It’s a photographer’s dream with endless, epic backdrops: towering palms, modern architecture, jungle paths, and those golden Caribbean sunsets that don’t even look real. It is without a doubt the best place for your West Bay family photos.

Of course, someone in the group wasn’t exactly thrilled about taking photos. (Let’s be real, it’s usually the husband.) He gave me the classic “I’ll do it, but don’t expect enthusiasm” face. But I know a secret: when the session is fun, the photos are easy—and even the grumpiest dads end up having a great time. Sure enough, just a few laughs and a quick stroll through the property later, his face said it all. He was in it, having a blast.
